to understand. You can discover how the Internet works, find out
where you can download great software, and discover the secrets of the
search engines.
This tutorial
on the basics of the Netscape Web Browser will help you effectively
use Netscape Navigator.
Check out Microsoft's
internet tutorial. This is Microsoft's attempt to teach us all
about the Internet.
This University of Albany
site has great information about how
to search the Internet.
This University of California
site provides a
tutorial on finding information on the Internet.
Google
(this
is one of the best). Google searches more sites more quickly in order
to bring you the most relevant results.
Dogpile
(a great multi-search engine). Dogpile is supported by numerous search
engines. Go ahead and let Fido fetch your subject for you.
Vivisimo
was voted the top search engine by ZDNet. Try it to see where it
ranks with you.
Ask
Jeeves (good for general information). Just type in your question
and Jeeves, the world's first Internet butler, is at your service.
SearchShots
is a new type of visual search engine that provides preview screenshots
of every site.
Lycos
uses web guides to show categories to help with your search.
FastSearch
claims to "enable information on demand." Fast provides scalable
searches and real-time filtering (whatever that means). Try it and
see if it works for you.

- This is one of the best picture sites. Just type in your request
and you'll have lots of pictures to choose from.

is another friendly picture site.
