Welcome to
Seattle / Washington
Seattle's nickname might seem a little off, maybe even misplaced. After all, the city isn't known for emeralds. Seattle is called the Emerald City because the city and surrounding areas are filled with greenery all year round.
The name also echoes Washington State’s nickname as
The Evergreen State.
This historic landmark of the Seattle skyline was built in the Seattle Center for the 1962 World's Fair. Inside, visitors travel at 10 miles per hour for 41 seconds to reach the top observation deck. See a 360 degree view of the area from 520 ft up this iconic architectural tower.
This public market is a vibrant neighborhood comprised of hundreds of farmers, craftspeople, small businesses and residents. It is one of the oldest continuously operated public farmers' markets in the United States.
Being the second largest estuary in the United States, this sound is also an inlet of the Pacific Ocean and part of the Salish Sea. It has more than 170 islands with many only a ferry trip away.
