Ethics
When asked about some ethical issued at stake in the work of design, the first thing that came to mind was watching the Blue Vinyl movie. In this movie the main character happened to be a female. On her journey across the country to find out the truth about vinyl siding she ran into a lot of sexist discrimination. People were not very cooperative in giving her the information she asked for. I feel that I have a new understanding of the ethical issue pertaining to a person’s sex and their job as a designer. Being an architect is a very masculine job; yet, many women are successful at it. I have always had a good sense of accountability and am good at working in groups. Throughout the period of this term I have done many projects within a group. If I had a choice I would always rather work alone on a project because you can really only rely on yourself. This decision is due to a few bad experiences during the Lego robotic section and holding my group accountable for being in class, participating.
