Do Assignment #1 (email instructor, etc.)
Participants who are ABSOLUTELY to the course: 1) Do also Assignment #2, which helps you explore the course materials and asks how they fit your image of language learning. 2) Look at the "Big Picture" view of course, which was presented in class during the first quarter of the course. Your instructor may also want you to provide a German writing sample, perhaps using part of the previous quarter's final exam and Assignment #3, which helps you to rate your proficiency (current, earlier, and future).
Returning students: your instructor may give you an equivalent assignment, such as revising your written final from the previous quarter.
