Purposes: The projects encourage you to use the language more independently and creatively, and to customize your experience of the language and culture to your own interests, knowledge and circumstances.

The "Deutsch und mein Studium und Beruf" / "German and My Studies and Occupation" project has several particular purposes; they are listed in the project description. One long-term purpose is to encourage you to see that German can be something more in your world than just a course that you take for a couple quarters.

Your project is due TWO WEEKS (for an "on-time" score of 4 / sufficient) after your instructor officially activates it.

NOTE: The individual projects are being revised to consist of just one stage, rather than the two stages that they had in previous years. If you see a reference to "stages", it should not be there; adjust what it says so that you can undertake your project without doing a stage 1 and then waiting to do a stage 2.
