This work was written by a well-known polymer chemist and dedicated to another
well-known polymer chemist, Walter Stockmayer. A recording of these two
polymer chemists/friends/musicians at the pianos will be played as brief
interludes between the other scheduled talks of the symposium. The piece
is subdivided into sections that offer musical interpretations of various
aspects of polymer chemistry: 1) Random Coils and Crosslinks, 2) Polypentenamer
and Phantom Networks, 3) Holes in Polymer Liquids and Theories, 4) Fluctuations,
5) Folding Chains, and 6) Helical Duet.
