Day  Three:
Stop 12: Darlingtonia State Park

Our final official stop of the trip (there were
bathroom breaks on the way back).  We
wandered along a boardwalk through a bog
to look at carnivorous plants.  When we were
done, we had lunch, looked at all the sand
we'd been collecting for the past few days
and headed home.

To the right is the sign that explains everything.
Below is a photo of the darlingtonia pitcher
plant.  Below right is a photo of the
plant's flower.

At the end of the trip, I realized that, as usual, I'd forgotten to take "people pictures" and snapped two quick ones.  I asked Bonnie (on the left) to be "perky".  This is her version.  Caroline (above) is doing her best to ignore me.
