Biographical Details:

Essentially, nothing is known of the life of Martha Runyon beyond the bare facts that she was a daughter of Thomas and Martha Dunn Runyon and was born about 1703 in New Jersey.  Subsequently, she married Hezekiah Bonham, Jr., about 1722.  The date of her death is entirely unknown with some researchers asserting 1726, which would seem far too early, but could indicate that she died during childbirth.  In contrast, other researchers affirm that she lived until 1798 and died in Chester County, Pennsylvania.  This probably, derives from longstanding familay tradition that the Bonham family lived in Chester County from the 1750's onward into the nineteenth century; however, there is very little support for such a hypothesis.  In any case, no burial place form Martha Runyon Bonham is known, although it may be supposed that she was buried with her husband who seems to have died in New Jersey.
