Users have the ability to pause/stop/hide video

The line item assists people with a visual, auditory, or cognitive disability and allows for control of video on a page. Video that automatically plays when you arrive on a page can be distracting to someone with a learning disability. By allowing for controls within the video player you are allowing your users to start a video when they are ready to participate with the content or stop/pause the video when needed.

Success Criteria 2.2.2

A

  • If audio on the web plays for more than 3 seconds, users must have the ability to pause, stop the audio

AA

  • There are no AA requirements for this criteria item

AAA

  • Prerecorded audio does not contain any background audio

  • Prerecorded audio is not an audio CAPTCHA or audio logo

    • Prerecorded audio as a background sound ban be turned off by the user
