Solar for Schools

To access the PGE website that contains information about the Solar for Schools program, go to PGE's Renewable Energy Site.

Educators must e-mail PGE to sign their school up for the program. The school must be within the PGE zone of the Portland area.

PGE provides the following: hardware, an inverter, technical support, and a power monitoring system that will collect and store
data . PGE will publish the solar data on the Internet.

PGE does not provide installation or system monitoring equipment.

Franklin High School currently hosts 2,000 Watt solar system, which was installed in August of 2000. The system is capable of
producing 3,000 kWatt-hrs. per year.
