Homework must be handed in on the day it is due. Late homework will only
be accepted if you are absent, and hand it in on the same day that you
return to class. Late homework will be marked, but will receive a grade
of zero.

In this course, we will quickly review:

verb tenses from Level E (simple present, present continuous, simple past,
past continuous, and future)

count/non-count nouns and some irregular plurals
-
articles
-
pronouns (subject, object, and possessive)
-
comparative and superlative forms of adjectives and adverbs
-
some modal auxiliaries:

ability--can, could, be able to (past, present, future)
-
advice--ought to, should
-
possibility--may, might
-
prohibition--can't, must not
We will spend more time on these topics:

OBJECTIVES:
By the end of the term, you should be able to do the following.

understand and use each of the verb tenses listed above in statements and
questions;

understand and use modal auxiliaries listed above in statements and questions;

identify common verbs that take infinitives and gerunds;
-
understand and use real conditional forms;
-
understand and use comparative and superlative forms of adjectives and
adverbs;
-
be understood in spoken and written English describing, comparing, and
asking questions about yourself and others;
-
understand and use passive voice for each of the verb tenses listed above.
