Project 1
My initial research project was
focused on composition without notation. I found the program
Incrediox by developers So Far So Good. The application is a
beat-box drum machine allowing students to create combinations
and individual compositions. There is a free as well as a paid
option for both desktop and smart-phone.
Project 2
For my second research project I focused on a piece of hardware
called the SubPac. Initially designed for music production, this
hardware is popular with hard of hearing and deaf music lovers to
gain a tactile perception of the music. Using transducers instead of
subwoofers SubPac produces vibrations letting the user experience
music on a physical level.
