1. (10 points) Write an accurate, hand-drawn structure, clearly indicating the correct configuration of any chiral centers. Label every chiral center with an asterisk (*).

2. (10 points) Identify the hybridization of each carbon atom. Designate sp2 with a triangle and sp with a square; leave sp3 carbon atoms unlabeled.

3. (10 points) Indicate the presence of two different functional groups by circling them and naming the functional group or family. Alkanes and cycloalkanes won't be considered functional groups.

4. (10 points) Identify acidic and basic sites. Aim an arrow at the site that would be most likely to accept a proton and the hydrogen that would be most likely lost as a proton.

5. (10 points) Describe something about its biological source, activity or function.

Example - cyclohexanol

5. Narcotic-like action; has caused liver, kidney, vascular injury in experimental animals. (Source: Merck Index, 11th edition)
