Online Homework Trials |
I am considering making online homework available for this class next year. I would very much appreciate your advice on the appropriateness of the following online programs for this class. Think of it as free practice opportunities that will help you in this course and help make the course better for future students (yes - and extra credit points).
I have arranged for trial accounts for all of the following programs that will last through the remainder of this school year. Please use them all and keep track of your reactions to using them. Near the end of the term, you will get surveys through WebCT that will count for extra credit (1 point for each program reviewed).
In order to log in to these online programs, you will need a password. These are provided in WebCT - look in your Gradebook at the very end. The passwords are listed under ACE, ARIS, OWL,WebA.
If you have problems or questions, do what you usually do -- ask one another for help in the WebCT Discussion List. Keith James will serve as the TA who will help me coordinate this. If you really are stuck, e-mail him at
Keith James - - joeway222cool@yahoo.com
Note - we found it very easy to get these programs mixed up. Please record your responses to each of them and keep a log of your usage for the surveys that will come in a few weeks.

The survey questions are listed below - collect your responses as you work with the programs (to help keep them all straight), then log in to WebCT and do the survey as if it were a pre-quiz or e-molecule. For each program you provide a full review for, you will get one extra credit point (and you will be helping provide an improved experience for future O-chem students). Thank you.
Your surveys must be turned in by next Wednesday, June 13, by 5:00 pm to contribute to your final score in the class.
