Ubiquinone or Coenzyme Q

Dr. Wamser,

I believe the molecule of the 3rd week is coenzyme Q. It is a carrier of electrons in the respiratory chain and has a long chain of isoprene units. It is a component of the inner mitochondrial membrane. Its role in oxidation/reduction there is as a 2-electron oxidizing agent. It is a form of quinone, loved by those who pursue artificial photosynthesis.
