Echo Audio is, in the immortal words of Smokey Robinson, "really, really real." This is no small thing in the smoke-and-mirrors world of the Internet. For over 20 years, Echo Audio has been a real home stereo shop in downtown Portland, Oregon (where there's no sales tax, by the way). It's a hi-fi lovers dreamland, with towering wooden racks filled with an eclectic mix of new and used equipment. And it's locally owned and operated.
Come and relax in our listening lounge, where you can listen to all of our equipment for as long as you like, even the expensive stuff you can't afford
We don't believe that you're just not living large unless you have a $10,000 CD player powered by some humongous amplifier that needs to be hooked up directly to Hoover Dam.
Of course, we do have such items. And some of that ultra-gear can be pretty fabulous. But the truth is that a $700 system can sound as good as a 3K system if it's chosen well. That's where a good stereo shop comes in — saving you from spending time and money on poor on-line purchases that simply don't benefit your system, or wallet.
We realize there's a variety of ways to sell your equipment on-line. Put simply, we get great equipment because we pay fair prices. Our customers appreciate the convenience and security of getting a 'good check' whether they choose to sell or consign equipment with us.
We are all searching for the holy grail, that elusive piece which will catapult our system to the next level. It could be the final unit needed to complete your collection or, maybe you are just haunted by the 'one that got away' years ago and want to find it again.
Unlike the cable company that gives you a 8 hour window, we respect your time and show up on time at a convenient hour. Professional installers that really know hi-fi will be putting on booties, doing the wiring and taking the time to make sure that you know how to use the (perfectly) programmed remote.
