Final Review Calculus I Enoch Final
scheduled for Tuesday at 8:00 AM in our regular classroom In this final I will
expect you to: §
Take limits of a rational
function. (see problems 4, 5, 6, and 14 in the chapter 2 review). §
Given f(x), find f ‘(x). This involves familiarity with derivatives of
all basic functions, the product rule, quotient rule, and chain rule
(chapter
3). §
Given f(x), find f ‘(x)
using
logarithmic differentiation (section 3.7 #27-36). §
Implicitly differentiate a
function
(#3-12 of section 3.6). §
Find the linearization of
a
function f(x) at a point a and use it
to approximate f(x) for values of x near a
(#5, 6 of section 3.8). §
Solve one of the related
rates
problems from your worksheet. §
Find all local
maxima/minima, and
the absolute maximum and minimum of a function within a given interval
(#35-43
of section 4.2) §
Given a sketch of f ’(x), identify the intervals on which f(x)
is increasing or decreasing and concave up or concave down; find the
local
maxima and minima and inflection points.
Draw a sketch of what f(x)
might look like (#11, 12, 27, and 28 of section 2.10.
Also see section 4.3). |
