Example Unit

The purpose of this example is to illustrate:

1. the specific learning objectives for the students and how these relate to the learning levels

2. a range of teaching strategies that have been incorporated to address these different learning levels

scaffolding of concepts

coordination between learning and assignments

3. technology support for student learning

4. technology support for assessment and grading

5. embedded assessment

6. support for faculty who are unfamiliar with all the background (as I am)

2.Teaching strategies

This unit is based on a hybrid course (1/2 face to face and 1/2 online assignments) with two week units. Each unit goes through an entire cycle of assignments. The assignments that are assigned between class meetings are designed to keep the students' attention on the course. The class meetings were on Thursday. The next unit started right after the quiz for the previous unit.
