Power is work per time

work is force * distance

Power = work/time = Force*distance/time = force*velocity

 

The force exerted is often related to the resistance required

at zero velocity there is no resistance at some very high resistance there is no velocity assume its linear in between

Maximum power is in the middle region

power = velocity * force
