JOHNSON CREEK PARK

Location:

Johnson Creek Park is at the confluence of Crystal Springs Creek and Johnson Creek. If you go over the Sellwood Bridge and take a right on SE 17th, it's only a few blocks from there.

The back side of the park is also on the SWC bike trail.

Interesting points:

This little park has a playground, bike racks and a charming bridge that goes over Crystal Springs Creek. The grassy area on the other side of the bridge leads down to Johnson Creek. These two streams have very different sources in the Portland area.

When I was there this fall, there was construction of some sort going on the other side of Johnson Creek.

Possible sampling points:

The exact confluence of the two streams is in an off-limits restoration area. You can sample from the bridge and right across the green area. You could also sample Johnson Creek just north of the park at SE Sherrett and 23rd.
