BROWNWOOD

Location:

This site is quite a ways out Foster. If you're not familiar with this section of Portland it is an interesting trip just on it's own. There are wide streets and malls mixed in with the natural assets.

The SWC goes just around the south end of Powell Butte Nature Park and you could get off the trail at SE 158th to access both the bridge over Johnson Creek and the bridge over on SE 159th.

 

Interesting points:

This part of the stream is quite a bit upstream from the other sampling points. It is surrounded by Powell Butte Nature Park on the north (see below).

There is a restoration site in place on the north side of 159th and a wetlands remediation site across the street nearer Foster.

Possible sampling points:

There is a bridge over Kelly Creek on SE 159th and a bridge over Johnson Creek (after the confluence with Kelly Creek) on SE 158th. It'd be nice to find a convenient spot to sample Johnson Creek above Kelly Creek.
