Week 1: pace of change is fast and accelerating
Week 2: some of our impact is invisible unless you really try to unravel the embedded costs
Week 3: solutions at smaller scale may be important, such as approprriate technologies
Week 4: efficiency is not the goal (for us) - more criteria (lower impact, financially feasible, just)
Coming up -
Week 6: water projects - including some that use green (rather than grey) technologies
Week 7: small scale solutions can diffuse through entrepreneurism
A few crucial questions that we've brought up
1) Should we have less stuff or use less energy?
2) Should we spend our effort reducing overall energy use or switching to renewables?
2) Small scale is not necessarily good or most efficient - such as the home generator. But might be in other cases. Let's make a list:
- solar panels
- garden water storage
- bicycle - walkable neighborhood
- trees rather than grid powered air conditioner
