The textbook is “Principles of Virology : Molecular Biology, Pathogenesis, and Control" by S. Flint (and others). It is an excellent reference as well as text, but focuses on animal viruses and not enough on plant, bacterial or archaeal viruses. It is on reserve at the library.
There is a WWW site for the course at http://web.pdx.edu/~kstedman/VirologyFrame.html where I will post lecture notes as soon as I have made them.
There is also an e-mail distribution list for the course so that you can ask me questions outside of office hours, and communicate with each other. All messages will be sent to all members of the list, but I need to subscribe you to the list and will also check all postings before they are sent to everyone.
