When you choose this command, the Scale dialog box appears, in which you can scale the values of the specified MIDI data type (velocity, durations, or continuous data) evenly from one value to another across the selected region. You could scale the velocities of the notes in a selected region, for example, from a low value to a high one; Finale would play the notes back with a smooth crescendo. See Smart Playback Plug-in. This command is also useful for creating pitch bends.
You can scale the MIDI velocity values either from one specified absolute value to another, or from one percentage of the original value to another (from 15% to 50% of the original values, for example).
