Discussion:
The board discussed whether they would like to join SOC. All four members agreed that it would be beneficial.
President Chris Adams informed the board that the Chamber Choir has a performance conflict with the collegiate breakfast at the convention. The board also discussed the PSU booth sign-up.
The board is concerned about membership. (A small percentage of actual music ed students are not CMENC members.) The board would like to make cards with our website address to hand out to potential/and regular members. The members of the board will attempt to recruit in classes and by e-mail/or phone calls.
President Chris Adams has a draft of the GTEP Guide. She will e-mail it to the other members.
President Chris Adams also has a draft of class planning.
Bill Tuttle was unable to make the last meeting attempt, so the board will attempt to call him to reschedule.
There are some presentations that the chapter could give that may help prepare students for the PRAXIS exams. The board will call on Dr Browne to give a choral performance practice presentation, David Jimerson to give a lesson planning presentation, Debbie Glaze to give a presentation on the MENC Natl Standards, and possibly Bill Tuttle for a Band performance practice presentation. The board will also ask SWOKE (Southern Washington and Oregon Kodaly Educators) back for another presentation this year.
