Lab 2: Symbology and Classification
Introduction
This lab introduces symbolization
of features and rasters in ArcGIS. It also introduces classification of features and rasters. You will learn the following skills in ArcView:
- Changing
symbology
- Symbolizing
features by categorical attributes

styles and creating layer files
- Symbolizing
rasters
- Classifying
features by standard methods
- Classifying
features manually
- Mapping
density
- Using
graduated and chart symbols
