"GODSPEED, JOHN GLENN, AGAIN"
by David Phinney
Oct.30.98

SUMMARY

In this article, "Godspeed, John Glenn, Again", David Phinney reports that John Glenn, the world's oldest astronaut, is on orbiting on the planet. On Oct. 29, in spite of small panel falling off during liftoff and 19 minutes delay, that is from a technical glitch and from an unauthorized planes in the area, the launch of Discovery was successful. Glenn enjoyed floating free and weightless on his second journey after reaching orbit. He will rack up 144 orbits before landing back.

RESPONSE

When I heard that 77year old senate would go back space, I was so surprised. Because I have known that space journey requires person who is really healthy. Therefore I have never thought even that the elder can do that. So I was so interested. Same as me, it seems that Americans and whole world got excited about John Glenn. However, unfortunately, this article is not clever and clear to explain that flight and people's exciting. First of all this article doesn't have 5W1H: why, when, what, who, where and how. So it is difficult to summarize. Secondly, writer wants to convey so many different points that involved the Discovery, so that even though he classified 5subheaded paragraphs, it doesn't have enough information that readers want to know. Anyhow I hope we get lots of information that can improve our space knowledge!
