Our destination in Venezuela was the town of Mérida, which sits at about 5000 feet in the very northern tip of the Andes. Among other things, Mérida is known as an international hangout for backpackers and climbers. In this regard, its main attraction is the highest cable car ("teleférico") in the world. It goes in four stages from the city center to Pico Espejo, the second-highest peak in Venezuela at about 17,000 feet. The cable car runs to 16,000 feet.

Nuestra destinación en Venezuela era la ciudad de Mérida, que está a 1500 metros en el norte de los Andes. Con otras cosas, la gente conoce a Mérida porque muchas personas van allí para andar en las montañas. Mérida tiene el teleférico mas grande en todo el mundo. Es en cuatro secciónes del centro de la ciudad a Pico Espejo, que tiene 5400 metros. El teleférico va a 4800 metros.
