Installing SpinPHP

SpinPHP is a tutorial with a collection of useful PHP examples which helps you to learn and master PHP with PageSpinner on your Mac.

To view the PHP examples "live", locally on your Mac, you need to use Mac OS X and enable Personal Web Sharing and PHP.

The following Web page describes how to setup and enable PHP on OS X.

After you have Apache with PHP support running on your Mac perform the following steps to install the SpinPHP examples:

1. Open the SpinPHP folder inside the Goodies Folder in the PageSpinner application folder.
2. Select the folder named spin_php inside the SpinPHP folder.
3. Choose the Copy command from the Edit menu in Finder.
4. Open the Sites folder inside your Home folder.
5. Choose the Paste command from the Edit menu in Finder.
6. The spin_php folder should now be copied into the Sites folder.

Then do the following to view the tutorial and examples:

Open your web browser and enter the following path in the URL field:

http://127.0.0.1/~username/spin_php/index.html

Replace the word username in the path above with your short username (available in the Accounts System Preference Panel).

Finally press return to make the browser load the SpinPHP index page.
