Week 7: Cluster Analysis

Overview

The two primary forms of machine learning are supervised and unsupervised. Our final week of new content introduces unsupervised machine learning, which uses only feature variables without the supervision provided by a target variable. Cluster analysis, the primary form of unsupervised learning, identifies homogeneous groups of samples embedded within a larger data set. A classic application is market segmentation, the identification of groups of similar customers according to the products they buy and the time they shop.
