Search recommendations:

-Use quotation marks around terms; combine a specialized term with a location (Bayern, etc.) to get a narrower list
-Use specifically German terms rather than expressions that may be common to many languages (example: "Gasthof" [inn] instead of "Restaurant").

"Verkehrsverein" (also "Verkehrsamt", "Verkehrsbüro") + name of city / region = local office of tourism, commerce, industry (good sources of links to lodging, food, attractions)

"Verein" + [German name of a hobby or other special interest] will get sites of special-interest clubs
"Kurse" = courses (cooking, kayaking)
"Volkshochschule" = community college (good place for non-academic lessons)
"Ausflug" = field trip, excursion
"Termine" or "Kalender" (NOTE SPELLING!!) = event calendar
"Veranstaltungen" = events (usually more descriptive than "Termine" or "Kalender"
"Gäste" "willkommen" - use this to see whether visitors are welcome at organizations (usually they are even if it's not stated).
"Schnupper(kurs)" = tenderfoot/raw beginner (course)
"Angebot" = offerings, resource listings
"Pauschal" = package (deals)
