WHAT'S NEW

last modified: 4/14/07

Items will be posted with the newest at the top.
Links open in new windows.

All tests and assignments will be announced HERE, in CLASS, and by EMAIL. Links will be added also on the "Course Documents" and "Schedule & Assignment" pages (links at left). If you do not see HERE a link to the new item, the item is NOT YET READY and you are not yet responsible for it. Please don't contact your instructor about it, since that just takes time and can delay the update. We don't forget these things, but there may be delays.

The best ways to stay informed are to: 1) check this page several times a week (it comes up automatically when you enter the course website); 2) go to class (obviously!); 3) check your email frequently (be sure the account you use is the one whose address you have given to your instructor, that your mailbox is not full, and that your service will accept the attachments).

The talking pictorial dictionary "CosmoLexikon™" is now available (requires Internet Explorer!!). "CosmoLexion" offers about 40 pictures ("Restaurant", "Living Room", "Countryside", "Personal Effects", each with 20-50 objects identified by numbers. You can click on the corresponding on-screen keypad to see the words for the objects, along with such information as (for German) gender and plural. Sound files are also available for some pictures. "CosmoLexikon" also serves several other languages, including Spanish, Chinese and Turkish.

The “Wie, bitte?” software is being revised to catch up on the “Overview” and “Structures” features for the Kontexte after #9. New complete CD-ROMs will be distributed within about a week. In the meantime, paper copy of the "Overview" and "Structures" content for Kontexte 15 & 16 will be distributed in class. You can also download the new master file (about 5 MB compressed) and replace the older version, if you have copied your older materials to your computer's hard drive.
