Biographical Details:

Samuel Emmett Evans was the youngest son of Thomas Jefferson and Sarah McGuire Evans and was born March 31, 1883, in Miller Township in Gentry County, Missouri.  He married Martha Jane (Patty) Rigney on April 7, 1910.  They had no children of their own.  He was familiarly known as "Emmett" and early in life was a farmer; however, he subsequently worked as a bookkeeper in banks in King City and Maryville (and, perhaps, elsewhere).  He died of an apparent heart attack in 1936 and was buried in King City Cemetery.  After his death, his widow married David Elsworth (Jack) Emmons.  She died in 1965 and is buried with her second husband in Grandview Cemetery.
