Oven Roasted Figs
The consumption of fresh figs has diminished since ancient times due to their short shelf life. Neverthelsss, they are a treasure in the kitchen because of their unique natural sweetness. This simple recipe cooks figs just enough to soften them slightly while allowing them to retain their natural taste. You will find this light dessert bursting with flavor, and can even serve as an in-between-courses palate cleanser when served cold.

Ingredients
- 5 fresh figs
- 1 tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp cinnamon
- A handful of rosemary sprigs
- 1 1/2 tbsp honey
Preparation
- Preheat oven to 350F (180C)
- Slice figs in half (or in smaller slices according to preference) and place in greased baking dish
- Sprinkle brown sugar and cinnamon on fig slices
- Sprinkle rosemary sprigs over the top
- Roast for 40 minutes and remove from oven
- Let cool for 10-15 minutes and drizzle with honey to serve
