Leslie McBride
Biography:  I have been at PSU since 1985.  I'm an associate professor in the School of Community Health, which is located in the College of Urban and Public Affairs.  My graduate training is in school and community health education.  I'm married, have a miniature Australian Shepherd pup, and live in Hillsdale.  In my free time, when I have it, I kayak, garden, and ride my bike. My husband is a geographer, and he treats me to adventures in Europe (see me in picture above at Samos Monastery in northwest Spain)..

Professional Interests:  I've been interested in (more like passionate about) the connections between mind and body and how they impact our health for 15 years.  In the past few years, I have become increasingly interested in subtle energy and energy healing, particularly energy psychology and certain forms of esoteric healing.  I'm also interested in how adults learn and in a form of thinking together called dialogue.  I've been tracking developments in women's health for years.  In Winter 2002, I'm teaching a short course that will bring these interests together--Women Mystics, Women Healers.

Courses:    PHE466/566 Mindbody Health: Disease Prevention
