Reclassification Exercise

1. Get the smaller version of Oregon Geology.

2. Export the data to dbf so you can open it in Excel or some other program.

3. We need to reclassify the data according to the following schema:

High Cascades= uTa and Ti

Tmv = Tertiary Volcanics

Any code beginning with M, P, K or J is Pre-Tertiary

any code beginning with Q is Quaternary

everything else goes into the "Everything Else" category

4. Make a list of just Unique Values

5. Create a new reclass field, populate it with the above values

6. Save As...

7. Join this new table back to your main table. What kind of Join is it?

8. In the legend editor, tell it to look at your new field.

9. Make a nice layout and turn it in for an additional 5 points!
