Group projects are normally my least favorite aspect of school. I do not look forward to group projects because my grade depends on group efficiency versus how efficient I am. I do not like depending on others. My group consisted of Annalysa, Adela, and Joe. The four of us did an excellent job of working as one. We worked diligently together and stuck to our contract. Meeting on a weekly basis insured that we wouldn’t fall behind and have to rush to put together a presentation. Everyone in the group provided useful information and input that contributed to an excellent presentation.
The biggest strength we had in our group was communication. Everyone in the group voiced their opinions and whenever there was a problem it was addressed. The fact that we were all friends helped in our ability to effectively communicate any concerns we had. Our group also was able to stick to goals and plans. We set deadlines for what we would like to get done and by what day. We met our goals effectively and this added to our unity. There was really only one problem in our group but it was dealt with really well. There was disagreement as to what should and shouldn’t be on a couple of our slides, but this was effectively dealt because of our ability to communicate well with each other. Through communication and goals that address deadlines, any group can be effective. I will take this into account the next time I have to work with a group to finish a project or presentation.
All group members will attend meetings on Mondays and Wednesdays from 2:00 PM - 4:00 PM starting Wednesday November 8th, 2006. Missing any meeting without a legitimate excuse will result in one letter grade deduction from the overall group reflection grading criteria for each meeting missed. If you are to miss a meeting, you must call ahead of time to one of the group members so that the group is aware you will not be attending the meeting. All group members will work together and not be put in a position where they are doing more work than other group members. When you are asked to bring vital information to a meeting, it is your job and responsibility to complete the assigned task. Communication is the key to success.
