Currently developing optimal porous structures with high performance surface wicking features for enhanced multiphase transport (NSF project); conducting experimental and analytical studies of capillary flows in complex geometries (NASA project); analyzing hand held Capillary Flow Experiments flown onboard the International Space Station (NASA project); conducting numerical investigations of shape and stability of capillary interfaces using the Surface Evolver algorithm.

 

Research Assistant, January 1998 – July 2003  

Department of Aeronautics and Astronautics Engineering, Purdue University

Designed and built a 1.2 second high test rate drop tower for micro-gravity fluids science research, and conducted experimental studies of capillary flow in vane wall gap geometries, conducted low-gravity experimental fluid mechanics studies for the design of a rat urine collection system for future International Space Station animal habitat
