Dr. Li-Hong Liu joined the Yan lab as a postdoctoral research
associate in the fall of 2007. Before joining the group, he was a postdoc at the Laboratoire de Photophysique et Photochimie Supramoléculaires et
Macromoléculaires (PPSM), Ecole Normale Superieure de Cachan, France.
He received his Ph.D. from Xiamen University, China (2005). Liu’s
research interests include photochromic materials, optical chemical
sensors, and organic-inorganic hybrid nanomaterials and their applications
in biosystems.

Xin Wang was born in Tianjin, China in 1983. He received his B.S. degree
in Chemistry from Peking (Beijing) University in 2006. Now he is
pursuing his Ph.D. degree in Chemistry under the supervision of
Professor Mingdi Yan. His current research involves gold nanoparticle
synthesis, functionalization, and applications in biosensing.

Julia Unangst, Administrative Assistant to the Yan Lab

Julia Unangst joined the Yan lab in October 2008. She received her M.A. in English Literature from PSU in June 2007. While a graduate student, she worked in the Physics department as technical writer and program assistant. Currently, she supports the Yan lab on a variety of part time projects from web design to manuscript editing. She is also the Director of Summer Sessions at Lewis & Clark College.

Liling Li graduated from Northwestern Polytechnical University (NWPU), China, with a MS degree. She joined Professor Yan's group in 2009 as a Ph.D. student. Her research focuses on anti-fouling films and molecular imprinted polymers.
