Challenge problem (work in pairs or groups) :
- Indicate reagents and conditions that would be used to carry
out A --> B and A --> C .
- Predict which stereoisomers of A, B and C would be formed.
- Explain why B and C are said to show different regiochemistry.
- Write complete mechanisms, including the explanation for
the different regiochemistry and any specific stereochemistry.
