Zeina WHO?  The Warrior Princess???? 

Originally from Beirut, Lebanon, I moved to the United States when I was nine.  My family migrated to escape the Lebanese Civil War and to come to “a land full of opportunity.”  Portland, Oregon has been my home ever since.

I attended David Douglas High School located in SE Portland (Go Scots!).  Immediately following high school I began my career in higher education as a student at Portland State University.  I chose PSU due to its diverse student population, urban location, and excellent science department.  I am currently a senior majoring in Microbiology and Molecular Biology with the hope of attending medical school in the future. 

I hope for one day to practice as a Geriatric physician and advocate for a “well structured” universal health insurance coverage, where everyone, rich and poor receive equal and adequate health care. 

As for now my focus is succeeding in my studies and enjoying my college experience.  My hobbies include dancing, running, hiking, and camping. 

I am looking forward to peer mentoring next year, as I know I will meet many interesting individuals from whom I will learn.  I am excited about the challenge and enthused about being a helpful resource to the students in my mentor class.
