Stu's
REVIEWS...(Math sites)

Geometer's Sketchpag (GSP):  This site combines a couple of concepts to create a very solid Website.  Not only is it an advertisement page, but it can also be used as a resource for just about anything pertaining to the program.  Key Curriculum Press is a very well-known company in the mathematical world, which is evident by the bibliography page.  The page is user friendly.  I am the most computer-savvy person on the block, and yet I found it pleasantly easy to find my way around this site.  Whether it be the product itself, lesson ideas, or places I could go as a student- I had no trouble with this 'Tsunami" of a site.  The page is up to date with the most current addition of GSP and JavaSketchpad (JSP).  There is even a convenient link to a page where you can browse some of Key Curriculum's other products for Students.

*Drawbacks:  My mother always says, "Nothing in this life is free."  She must have been to this site, for nothing is without it's price at this site.  There are a few things for everyone to have, but for the most part this could turn out to a be an expensive day at the beach.

Lenart Sphere Construction materials:  Key Curriculum press has gone and done it again.  A wonderfully done site.  Not as many fun links this time, but I think this site is less specifically directed than the previous site.  This one seems to have more links to Key Curriculum, as opposeds to "GSP, a Key Curriculum product".  Not quite sure how up to date this site is.  It does say it was published in 2001.  Like the other site, this site is trying to sell a product.  Thus leaving that bias flavor in your mouth.  But not as much as I have seen at many other sites where their authors dedicate a link to bashing their major competitor.  Not so here.

*Drawbacks:  Where the other site had links for those of us who already own the product, this site does not.  I think that if I already owned the Matherials, I would like to have a place to go for extentsions or just plain help.

Non-Euclidean Geometry:  A wonderfully done Informational site on Non-Euclidean Geometry.  A lot like a tutorial or textbook lesson, though.  Not flashy at all.  Lots of links to further information about said mathematician.  The page is not very up to date, but I am pretty sure that the history spoken of hasn't changed since 1996.  Minimul Bias.  It is actually from a University in Scotland.

Awesome Library:  Wow!  What a resource for the teacher in me.  It's actually set for all levels of education.  I really enjoy how easy it is for me to get right to Secondary level mathematics, especially Trigonometry.  There gets to be a point when I, the teacher, just can't come up with anymore examples off the top of my head.  This is the place for an educator like me to go.  Really the options are endless, a virtual abyss of teacher resources.
The copyright is from 1996-2002.  I assume that means it is continuously being updated.  It has a page that tells how this site originated and has been kept up.

Probability, Just because:  Again, I am always looking for new and improved challenges for my students.  I am now finding how useful the web can be.  This little gem of a site has some nifty challenge problems.  And has some links to other problems.  It was written by an ex-college professor that is now in the computer software business.  However his software is geared toward the educator. It seems that there are references for every problem given.  The site isn't totally dedicated to Probability, but gives more info than I care to have.
