Student Organization Council Coordinator Job Description
- Position is a one year commitment: July 1, 2008 - June 30, 2009
- 12-15 hours/week
- $600/month stipend

Core Responsibilities:
- Work with and advocate for all PSU student organizations
- Track PSU student organization budgets, approve all SOC student organization expenditure requests
- Understand Student Code of Conduct, SOC Policies, SFC Polices, and SALP policies
- Create budget and attend all SFC required budget meeting/hearings.
- Attend viewpoint neutrality training
Additional Responsibilities:
- Assist in representing SOC at SALP Advisory Board, Leadership Training, SOAR Process and SALP Staff meetings
- Prepare reports as requested by SALP adviser
- Create and distribute promotional SOC literature
- Maintain timely communication with all student organization, faculty, and staff
- Maintain SOC website, networks, listserv, and filing system
- Update and maintain all SOC forms
- Work with SFC in regards to transferring SOC organizations to SFC
- Assist in hiring
Qualifications:
- Ability to work with a diverse group of students and professionals
- Excellent interpersonal communication, group facilitation, and public speaking skills
- Strong organizational skills
- Be a self-motivated & self-directed individual
- Experience working with student organizations, student-centered events, and/or program development
- Ability to serve as a role model and mentor
- Positive attitude
- Experience as committee and team leader
- Desire to be a team-player
- Commitment to a co-curricular student experience
- Ability to balance academic requirements with position requirements; all stipend recipients must take a minimum of 6 undergraduate/5 graduate level credits at Portland State University during Fall, Winter and Spring quarters
