Posting fliers at Portland State

In general, it is not appropriate to post flyers, banners, or other materials in buildings, on doors, walls, elevators or on other areas of the campus that are not designated bulletin boards. Doing so causes damage to paint and windows and in most cases your poster will be taken down by custodial staff. Several buildings on campus have bulletin boards that are open to anyone for posting. Click "Posting Maps" for the campus map and posting locations.

The following posting policy applies to the 17 bulletin boards in Smith, Cramer, and Neuberger which the Student Activities and Leadership Programs office maintains.

Only Portland State University departments and recognized student organizations and programs may use the SALP boards to communicate and advertise events and activities of educational, cultural, and community significance. Students, staff, and faculty wishing to use these boards must first get their posters stamped at the SALP office. Posters without stamps will be approved. The university sponsor must be clearly identified on each poster. Since alternate space is available for posting off-campus groups and events, SALP discourages users from claiming to "co-sponsor" an event merely to allow posting on SALP boards.
