TerminationSupervision of Paid Student PositionsPaid students are supervised by the SALP Advisor responsible for that organization. Students may be delegated the responsibility of day to day management of other student activities or coordination of schedules. However, the Advisor, as the representative for the University, is the overall supervisor of all paid positions. (Human Resource Center policy) Terminating/ FiringTermination decisions are to be made by the SALP Advisor. Coordinators and other student staff who may be responsible for managing the day to day activities of other student staff must bring concerns to the SALP Advisor in a timely manner. Student may not fire other students. Students who are in a position where they are not fulfilling their duties or who do not meet the minimum requirements will meet with the SALP Advisor to determine what actions are to be taken with regard to their position. A progressive discipline process should be in each organization's constitution. (Human Resource Center policy/ SALP Policy) |
