July    4                       A Family Affair. A day of fun, filled with games for all ages, an ATV Rodeo, a community potluck, and

  July   21                      Oregon Hunters Association. A banquet, auction and raffle to be held at the Memorial Building at the
                                       Harney County Fairgrounds beginning at 5:00 p.m. For more information, call 573-5656. 

  August   4                   Annual Chris Miller Memorial Steens Rim Run. 10K run or walk course follows the east rim of the
                                        Steens Mountain.  Starting at an elevation of 7,835 feet and finishing at above 9,700 feet.  For a

                                        at (541) 573-2636. Always the first Saturday of August. 

  August 18                   Demolition Derby. Begins 6:00 p.m. at the Harney County Fairgrounds. Contact Brady Ellis at (541)

  September  4 - 9         Harney County Fair--Rodeo--Racemeet.  4-H activities begin on Tuesday.  Carnival, rodeo and
                                        exhibits open on Friday and run through Sunday.  For more information, contact Don Slone at (541)
                                        573-6166. Always begins first Tuesday after Labor Day. 

  Septermber  21- 23   Steens Mt. Black Powder Rendezvous to be held at Whorehouse Meadows on Steens Mountain. For

  December 2                Harney County Homemakers Christmas Fair. Located at the Memorial Building at the Fairgrounds.
