Course information

  • Syllabus (posted 1/6/07). Click here for a copy of the class syllabus.
  • Useful reference books (posted 1/6/07). Here is a list of geochemistry books you may find useful.
  • Revised schedule (posted 1-17-07).  Our snowstorm has forced a change to the class schedule.  I've pushed back everything by one day and taken out a lecture on Cosmochemistry.
  • Revised schedule (posted 2-28-07).  The early arrival of the kids has forced a change to the class schedule.  I've pushed back the schedule and taken out the remaining lecture on Cosmochemistry.
  • Presentation topics (posted 2-28-07). If you haven't already done so, you should decide on a presentation topic and list your topic on the sign-up sheet I bring to class.  Student presentations will occur 3/14 and 3/16 as originally planned. You should limit your talk to about 14 minutes.  With such a short amount of time available, it is better to focus on a more limited topic than a broad one.
  • A copy of the answer key for Exam 2 was placed on my office door.  It has an error: for Q3, the reaction should read 1 enstatite + 1 water + 2 carbonic acid = 2 bicarbonate + 1 silicic acid + 1 Mg (posted 3-17-07).

Problem sets
  • A copy of the answers for Problem set #1 ia available on my door, which you may find useful (posted 2-7-07).
