Accessing items on electronic reserve at the library

Return to class homepage.

Return to reading list.

The library has scanned several documents and placed them on electronic reserve for me.  These supplement the readings in the coursepack.

Follow the following instructions for accessing items on electronic reserve:

1.  Go to this web site:  http://psu-eres.lib.pdx.edu/

2.  Click on Material on Reserve

3.  Select an instructor (Ruzicka) or department (Geology) then click GO

4.  Select the course you want (G410/510)

5.  Click accept

6.  Select a document you want

7.  Enter password (it's instructor's last name: ruzicka or Ruzicka)

8.  Click continue

9.  Now you can view or print out the document.

Important note:  you have to have Adobe Acrobat Reader to open or view the document.  Please make sure your computer has Adobe Acrobat Reader and a printer connection before attempting to access the documents.

Items on electronic reserve include the following.  (The numbers here are the same ones as in the reading list).

Topic: Overview & classification

3. (E-RESERVE)
Clayton R.N. (1993) Oxygen isotopes in meteorites. Annu. Rev. Earth Planet. Sci. 21, 115-149. Reviews info gleaned from O-isotope studies of meteorites.

4. (E-RESERVE)
Weeks S.K. and D.W.G. Sears (1985). Chemical and physical studies of type 3 chondrites-V. The enstatite chondrites. Geochim. Cosmochim. Acta 49, 1525-1536. Argues that enstatite chondrites should be subdivided into two groups based on differences in iron & siderophile element contents.

Topic: the asteroid-meteorite connection

Topic: Chondrules & CAIs

1. (E-RESERVE)

Topic: Chondritic meteorites and the solar nebula

1. (E-RESERVE)
Wood J.A. (1988) Chondritic meteorites and the solar nebula. Annu. Rev. Earth Planet. Sci. 16, 53-72. Reviews the nebular history of planetary material as recorded by chondrites.  NOTE: THIS IS INCORRECTLY LABELLED IN THE E-RESERVE AS BEING BY "BOYNTON ET AL. (1985)".
