Promote good growth of grass and limit the amount of stock

grass 3 to 6 " high bare ground or overgrown grass
ground cover wind and rain erosion
soil moisture and texture animals stomping down the ground
animals turing it into mud
rotate stock every several days too many animals for too long
recycling of nutrients through natural processes (movement and other animals) waste accumulation or lost nutrients
good forage weeds taking over after good forage is consumed
