Network Viewer Vocabulary

node and connector nodes are objects and connectors are the links of behaviors or flows between these
connectance proportion of the total connections possible
average link density total number of links divided by the number of nodes
total possible links number_of_nodes * (number_of_nodes - 1)/2
resilience the ability of a network to retain the same general nature and quality of connections when exposed to stresses or perturbations
compensatory response changes in the whole network compensate for the stress placed on one link or node
network state the condition and values of all the nodes and connections at one time
point attractor if the network has one stable condition that it will converge to
periodic attractor if the network settles into an oscillation as the stable condition
food web a network of multiple species at different trophic levels
spatial network a grid of locations that are geographically connected (such as a forest in the forest fire simulations)
intermediate level of connectivity not so connected that it's essentially the same as one functional unit and no so unconnected such that it should be considered as separate systems
